The girlies worked on making some very special Valentines for daddy this morning.

Happy Valentines day!!

It is hard this time of year. The girls and I have been so busy and they are having lots of fun, but mommy is getting the "Winter Blues". I apologize to all who have commented on my blog to which there was no response from me. I guess the days of sub-zero weather and lack of sunshine is bound to get me down. Here are some pictures I took on a VERY cold and VERY windy day. I believe the wind chills were in the 20 below range this day.

I was surprised with this shot. The pictures don't really translate how cold it actually was. The winds were probably gusting at 30mph with an actual temperature of around 2 or 3 degrees. I didn't expect to see the horses out of the barn.

But there they were, huddling for warmth...

This type of barn is my favorite. A weathered old shell.

That is hidden within the years of wear inside the walls of this very old barn...

A barn that in it's hay day must have been really loved, for even it's gables were lovingly trimmed in gingerbread.

The sheer size of it, absolutely amazed me.

And then there was this sign. I zoomed in from the road not knowing what it said until I came home. I love this little bit of clear history which this old barn is displaying....

Just imagine...if these old barn walls could talk, they'd have 161 years of history to share

She is going to be our new neighbor. Her mommy and daddy bought a house on our street which is walking distance from us. Riley is four.  She and Tara have already become fast friends and they are not even moved in yet. Welcome to our little area of the world Riley. We can't wait to get to know you more.

Corrie, Riley's mommy is really nice. I'm so glad to have a new friend with a little "girl" who will be so close. 

As a child, I used to catch snowflakes upon my tongue. Eyes closed tight, upturned face, arms spread wide as I'd twirl and catch snowflakes on my tongue. Now that I'm a mom, I have revisited my childhood with my girls. Once again turning my face up to the heavens, eyes closed tight as I catch cold snowflakes on my tongue. Now that I'm a photographer, I also discovered I can capture a snowflake for all to see. Gods beautiful artistry for you...from me.
