Last Sunday we finally made it out to the Christmas tree farm to cut down our Christmas tree. We took a hayride out to the one of their many tree fields on their 200 plus acre farm.

And then it was time to walk the hills to pick "the" tree.
Hmmmmm.....so many trees, so many choices....
Now that's the tree for me...on the right of the girlies and I...
Time to cut it...
Trim it....
And haul it to the hay wagon...
Then it was back on the hayride as the sun began to sink in the sky...
And we were left with a most beautiful heavenly treat...
Now our tree story doesn't quite stop there. We have been incredibly busy which is why I have "barely" been blogging. Because of this, we only got around to decorating "the" tree yesterday. The kids helped me a little in the morning, but after I dropped Tara off at school, and put Madeline down for her nap, I began the process of "really" decorating my tree. I have lots of beautiful glass ornaments. Many are very old but all are beautiful. I had just finished, and stepped back to admire it when Madeline woke and called me to her room. I was in the process of changing her diaper when I heard the most awful noise. The sound of my ornaments breaking as the tree crashed to the ground. My stomach wanted to wretch as I finished Madeline's diaper, told her to stay in her crib and walked out to asses the damage. It was an awful thing to see. My ornaments broken the tree laying across the floor, and of course...Ron not home. I cried as I righted the tree and wedged a chair in front of it to hold it up. I began to clean up the glass mess and called Ron to come home. Well, he got here pretty quickly and I had already "un"decorated the tree with the ornaments that remained (which were about 2/3's). We took the lights off, trimmed it some more, got it back in the stand and ANCHORED it to the wall with fishing line! My mom gave me some ornaments to replace the one's that had broken (Thank you mom! I love you). Then, after I picked them up from her last night, and shot the pretty Christmas lights, I came home and decorated the tree AGAIN. It's beautiful...
